Our Story
Knowing that what a person eats is vital to the person's health, our co-founder, Dr. Tom Smith, became concerned when his son, not even three, could tell where a fast food burger came from judging by the bun! Due to its wide availability and advertising presence, the fast food industry had permeated every corner of the country. There had to be a way to provide GOOD food, TASTY food, in a fast manner, not just any old food quickly like the fast food chains. So, taking the "normal American diet" and what he knew from nutritional research, he merged the two to produce the basics of the Blue Planet Natural Grill - healthy food that still TASTES great and satisfies those fast food cravings.
Our Mission
From this, our mission was born - providing great tasting food to promote great health. We serve food that Americans love to eat, but without those things that we now know are bad for us: deep fat frying, a lot of preservatives and high fructose corn syrup, low fiber, and unnecessary chemicals.
We have furthered this mission at Blue Planet by taking the health of the planet in mind too. We use biodegradable products when possible and recycle what we can. We minimize our energy and water usage. Protecting the planet is the ultimate expression of protecting our health.
Our Challenge
Sounds pretty obvious, doesn't it? Healthy food and a healthy planet to bring about a healthier you. Too bad the rest of the fast food industry doesn't get it, but you do.....thanks for checking us out!
